Members Welcome Letter
We are an all volunteer run, 9-Hole Handicap league. Our membership is open to all women who are available to play competitive golf on Thursday mornings from April through October, 7:00am – 10:00am, at Bellevue Municipal Golf Course.
Last year our club had 145 members. Although our competition is based on 9-Hole play, many of our members play a regulation round of 18 each week. We welcome both experienced players and those new to the game.
In order to be eligible for competition, all players need to have a WSGA GHIN number and handicap on record. To receive a GHIN number/handicap, new members must submit five (5) – 18 hole scorecards or ten (10) – 9 hole cards to the Handicap Chair for processing. The scorecards must be signed and attested. For your comfort it is recommended that you are able to play 9 holes under 75 consistently (and yes…that includes all whiffs, miss-hits, lost balls, and no GIMMIES!). Although we welcome new golfers, this recommendation helps us avoid slow play and insures that all members are comfortable with the rules of golf and the game in general.
We have a lot of information to share with you about our club and the benefits available. All members (new and returning) are strongly encouraged to attend our first general meeting of the season to meet other golfers, conduct club business, enjoy cookies, coffee and door prizes (including a free round of golf at Bellevue). This will be a short informative meeting to address changes and the calendar of the 2010 season.
