Steve has taught over 50 tour players and more than 300 PGA/LPGA teaching professionals. Many of his students and assistants have gone on to tournament wins and top teaching awards throughout the country.

PGA Apprentice

 

Fred Mabbott - PGA Apprentice

Fred has been an assistant golf professional at Bellevue Golf Course since 2000. He became a PGA Apprentice in 2005. Before becoming a golf professional, Fred spent over 30 years as a high school English teacher. For the past 20 years, he has been coaching both the boys' and girls' golf teams at Lake Washington High School. Fred provides lessons to people with a wide range of golfing experience. Those who are new to the game, and those who have been around the game for many years.

Patrick Vaughan – Instructor/Leagues

Patrick has been a teacher for over 40 years. After graduating from the University of Washington with a Masters degree in Physical Education, he taught at the High School level and coached various varsity sports including the boys’ and girls’ golf teams. He became a golf teaching professional in 1994 and has worked as an Instructor at Bellevue Golf Course for the past 12 years, working primarily with the beginning to intermediate level player. His teaching methods include drills that help develop the golf swing. He has great communication skills and the belief that golf lessons should be fun and result in a person learning to love the game.

Instructor/Leagues   Kenney Choi – Teaching Professional

Kenney has been playing golf for more than 35 yrs. As an Instructor, Kenney has been teaching the Ben Hogan’s fundamentals of golf swing. Kenney also teaches golf rules, etiquette, and course management. Kenney has been involved with golf tournaments such as the “US OPEN”, “US SENIOR OPEN” and “PEBBLE BEACH PRO AM.” as a volunteer. Kenney has been an assistant coach at “The First Tee” program and the Sammamish high school boys and girls golf team. Kenney came from Seoul, Korea in 1971. He graduated YS University in Seoul, Korea and DIT in Chicago, Ill. He is able to communicate in Korean and English.

Courtney Swanson  
Courtney Swanson - Teaching Professional

Being in and playing golf her entire life along with Courtney’s expertise in turf management and rules give her a unique perspective of the game. Her background and respect of the game along with patience give beginners a comfortable environment to learn. Her strengths are breaking the swing down to the basics, and helping all ages, juniors to senior, with a terrific attitude that promotes quick learning , skills, and confidence.
