2022 Bellevue City Amateur

2022 Bellevue City Amateur
July 30th & 31st, 2022

Thank you for competing in the 2022 Bellevue City Amateur. We hope you had a great experience playing Bellevue Golf Course.

Congratulations to Kris Jackson, our 2022 Bellevue City Amateur Champion. Kris tied Shawn Imamura with a 36-hole total of 3-under par (139). Having previously won in 2008, Kris captured his second Bellevue City Amateur title with a par on the second playoff hole. John Hayes, 2020 Champion Colten Kleis, and four-time runner-up Sean Packer finished one shot back to tie for third.

We'd also like to congratulate Sung Kim (Flight 2) and Aaron Latimer (Flight 3) for their victories in their respective flights.

And there's one more congratulations to be had - this one to Yash Kshirsagar, who had a hole-in-one on Sunday on Hole #3. Yash used a pitching wedge to make the ace from just under 150 yards. Incredible stuff!

Thank you to Golf Course Superintendent Tom Robinson, Kevin Hogue, and the entire Bellevue Golf Course maintenance staff. Bellevue Golf Course is the busiest 18-holes in the entire state of Washington, and their crew does an unbelievable job getting the course into the shape that it's in.

Thank you to F&B Director Wes Yanda, plus Austin at the Bellevue Grill. We hope you enjoyed their food and their service; those are two very long days with a constant stream of hungry and thirsty golfers.

Thank you to Kris Stromberg of the Bellevue Men's Golf Club (BMGC). As the BMGC Tournament Chair and our resident Golf Genius expert, his help was vital to making this tournament work - from the online results, to the scorecards we used each day, to the photos that are on the website.

Thank you to Mike Toll of the Western Washington Chapter of the PGA for his help each day at the check-in table. We greatly appreciate the voluntary time he gave us to help us run things smoothly each morning.

Thank you to Will Gould for his help each morning, as well. He was there to get everyone checked in on Saturday, and he was there opening up the shop the next morning. Thank you to Shawn Imamura and Terry Saiki for their help with scoring and check-in, as well.

Thank you to Troy Rodvold for his dedication to this tournament. No gall bladder? No problem. He came back into the office for five hours on Friday for the first time since his surgery, and he powered through double-digit hours on both Saturday and Sunday to get scores posted as they came in.

Most of all, thank you to all you players that make this event possible every year. Thank you for spreading the word about this tournament and this golf course. The demand to play in this event builds every year, and the quality of field gets stronger, as well. We hope its growth continues for years to come.

We'll try and turn the thermostat down a little bit next year, and we hope to see you for the 2023 Bellevue City Amateur.
